Refresco UK is part of the Refresco Group a multi-national independent soft drinks manufacturer with 78 manufacturing sites across Europe, North America, and Australia in 15 countries.
In the UK we have 6 sites, Bridgwater being the biggest - 158,700m2 - factory including warehouse. We work with all the large UK supermarkets plus many well-known branded drinks producers.
 
Environmental & Sustainability Advisor – Bridgwater, Somerset
Monday – Thursday 8:30am – 5pm, Fridays 8:30am – 4pm

About the role of Environmental & Sustainability Advisor at Refresco Beverages:
The Environmental & Sustainability Advisor will provide professional support and advice to the Site Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Manager, sites Senior Team and other relevant functions to ensure a common and consistent approach to all environmental & sustainability matters.

•    Ensure ISO14001, IPPC, and EA permit compliance through operations.
•    Deliver work tasks within specified time, cost, and quality standards.
•    Coach, mentor, and support teams on environmental responsibilities.
•    Serve as a reference point for teams on environmental incident investigations.
•    Conduct planned inspections to meet environmental standards.
•    Assist HSE Manager in maintaining legal registers and providing advice.
•    Manage aspects and impacts register.
•    Maintain site protection monitoring plan and address sub-standard conditions.
•    Prepare, review, and update environmental investigation reports.
•    Monitor progress of environmental improvement programs.
 
Key objectives for the Environmental and Sustainability Advisor:
•    Year on year improvements on environmental issues
•    Year on year reductions in energy, water & waste 
•    Successful audit results – no major findings
•    Communicate all environmental and sustainability issues 
•    Achieve and maintain > 95% for Group HSE Standards Self Auditing process
 
About you:
You will need to be passionate about sustainability and driving improvements on environmental issues. You will need good knowledge on waste reduction, reducing energy consumption and water waste/disposal – effluent plant.
 
•    Environmental qualification or equivalent
•    Experience of being involved in ISO 14001 verification audits
•    Experience with interpretation of full environmental legal compliance
•    Strong computer skills especially MS Excel 
•    Experience working with the EA 
•    Experience in supporting and leading audits
