Quality and Standards Coordinator
6 month FTC
Monday – Thursday 8:30 am – 5 pm and Friday 8:30 am – 4 pm

What you’ll be doing as a Quality and Standards Coordinator 
To support the Food safety and quality improvement and right first time agenda so that products are legally and safely manufactured in compliance with customer and internal Company specifications and standards. To facilitate the launch of new customers, products, and processes into manufacturing.

Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Review of current Micro processes and practices to drive continual laboratory improvement.
  • Investigate microbial Out Of specification results determining the root cause corrective action necessary to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Cover Laboratory technicians when needed (sickness, holidays) 
  • Complete GMP and Hygiene audits to required schedule
  • Coordinate cleaning schedules with cleaning contractors
  • Assist in the investigation of consumer complaints determining root cause and corrective action necessary to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Participate in the internal audit schedule completing audits as necessary to demonstrate compliance with company, customer, and industry standards
  • Where applicable take samples in accordance site quality plan ensuring the samples are analyzed in a timely manner and results reported / escalated as appropriate.
  • Complete traceability exercises to agreed plan.
  • Completion of operational QC compliance audits, reporting of non-conformances and ensuring corrective action is in place and monitored to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Assist to new starters and provide refresher training verification of new equipment or micro tests processes, ensure that internal and external customer expectations are reviewed.
  • Actively participate in the implementation of site quality improvement projects, where necessary providing support to train operation teams and monitor project effectiveness.
  • To be a member of the HACCP team ensuring micro process, equipment are taken into risk assessments.

Management of pest controllers to:

  • Be the main point of contact between the pest control contractor and site
  • Communicate corrective actions identified by the pest control contractor to the relevant personnel and monitor to ensure they are completed to an appropriate standard and to the agreed timescale
  • Make sure pest control activities and records meet requirements to pass customer and external audits

 

About you

  • Organised and persistent, able to work alone but able to achieve the desired results through influencing people.
  • Demonstrable team player 
  • Degree in a Science or Food Technology or relevant industry experience in an influential technical/quality role. 
  • Demonstrable operational experience, together with significant exposure, gained ideally in a fast-moving consumer goods environment.
  • Fully conversant with modern manufacturing methodologies.
  • Innovative and entrepreneurial thinker, interested in food and drink and improving quality systems.
